PersonalBest – a Minimalist Android UI

PersonalBest is a minimalist Android App that I am designing.

I don’t like that there are ‘two’ types of timer apps out there: the ‘Kitchen Timer’ style timer that counts down from a set time, and a stopwatch that ‘counts up’ from 0. My goal is to combine these two UIs, and then add a Personal Best time/note recorder to give it a theme.

This is the ‘Kitchen Timer’ and the start screen of PersonalBest. The user can change the hours, minutes and seconds with the UI in the middle. Note that the ‘Start’ button changes to a ‘Stop’ button once pressed.

This is the second screen – a stopwatch. I’ve noticed that time apps tend to be either a ‘Kitchen Timer’ counting down or a stopwatch counting up. This puts them both into one app.

This is the ‘Personal Best’ UI. To add a course, click on the dropdown and there will be an ‘add’ button beneath all one’s previous courses. To edit information on the course (the bottom text), simply tap on it and the text will be editable.
